Communicreate President Mike Houghton has an honored career in writing and editing publications.
- A winner of local, regional, national and international communications awards, Houghton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was the recipient of the Martin J. Flaherty Award for Excellence in Journalism.
- He began his career as an editorial assistant for the Boston Sunday Advertiser and subsequently served two years in the U.S. Navy as a journalist on the Defense Industry Bulletin and the Defense Management Journal.
- He served as editor of the National Park and Recreation's Association newspaper and its two technical journals. At C&P Telephone in Washington, D.C., he wrote and edited two internal newspapers, the annual report and several newsletters.
- Houghton was the founding executive editor of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association's quarterly journal, Wireless Communications Forum, and its Wireless SourceBook publications.
- As part of Communicreate, Houghton has served as editor of newsletters for the University of Oklahoma's Wireless EMC Center and the North American GSM Alliance. He has written by-lined articles and/or ghost-written articles and editorials for Wireless Week and RCR.
